2026-27 School Kick Off! All PK-8th grade students and families are invited for the Back-to-School Kick Off on August 8.  Come to worship and pray together  at Mass then head over to the school to meet the teachers and drop off supplies. 

Back-to-School Pool Party!   All GSCS families are invited to be guests of the PTO on July 22 for this annual get-together.  And this year we are back at Juniper Hill Aquatic Center!

Staff Promotion! 

In addition to continuing as our 5th-grade teacher, Cathy Coomes will also serve as Assistant Principal.

In this role, Cathy will oversee our Title funding programs, assist with the leadership transition from Mrs. Rowe to Mr. Auer, and co-lead our Catholic Identity initiatives alongside Deacon Kaldy. She will also work closely with Lucky and Mr. Auer as we transition from Sycamore to FACTS and will serve as the primary point of contact whenever Mr. Auer is away from campus.

Cathy has consistently demonstrated strong leadership, dedication, and a deep commitment to the mission of Good Shepherd. We have complete confidence in her ability to help lead our school successfully and support our students, families, and staff during this exciting time of growth and transition.

New Director of Student Support Services! 

In addition to continuing as our 2nd-grade teacher, Emily Perkins will serve as our new Director of Student Support Services.

Emily recently earned her Master’s degree in psychology and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). In this new role, she will support students with behavioral, academic, and learning needs while continuing to provide excellent instruction in the classroom.

Emily will work closely staff from the Diocese to implement our new Barton Reading Program, an evidence-based intervention designed to support students who struggle with reading, writing, and spelling due to dyslexia or other learning disabilities. She will also serve as our primary liaison with Franklin County Schools regarding student evaluations for speech services and learning disabilities.

We are excited to see the positive impact Emily will have in this important leadership role and look forward to the many ways she will continue to support the mission of Good Shepherd School.

Mr. Mark Auer has been selected as the next principal of Good Shepherd School. 

Mr. Auer is a veteran educator from the Diocese of Cincinnati with experience as an interim principal and a teacher in grades 4–8. He earned his  Master's degree in Education from Xavier University.

Mr. Auer  is currently busy familiarizing himself with our school community and the area. In the coming weeks, you will have opportunities to hear from and meet him. 

We are confident that Mr. Auer will uphold the traditions and reputation of Good Shepherd while helping lead our school toward continued growth and success.
